A lot of us think of the beach as a place to stretch out on the sand, catch some rays, and do sweet FA. But then there are those who are checking out the swell, ready to grab their board and carve up the waves. 

We’re talking, of course, about surfing. The sport is currently peaking in popularity (189,000 in England alone are trying it out), meaning more of us want to incorporate it into our stay. Thankfully, holiday rental platform Airbnb has an entire category of homes dedicated to surfing, and it’s just announced the best ones in the world. 

‘With summer upon us, surf interest is reaching fever pitch, and our data shows beachside stays are trending this season,’ says general manager for northern Europe at Airbnb, Amanda Cupples, ‘Our surf stays are ideal for anyone wanting to dip their toes in the sea and enjoy a spot of wade riding this summer.’
