Today marked one of my final shifts at Uber Boat by Thames Clippers, and I was fortunate to make it even more memorable by having our CEO, Sean Collins, join the crew onboard Mars Clipper. Sean didn’t just observe, he rolled up his sleeves, got involved with the team’s duties, and experienced firsthand the work our crew carries out every day. Hopefully he had as much fun as we did having him onboard! It really makes a difference when senior leadership takes the time to work alongside frontline employees. It builds stronger connections, deeper understanding, and real appreciation for the day-to-day challenges and successes of the team. Thanks for taking part Sean. It was a great way to round off one of my last shifts. 👏

🌊 You may have noticed new flags flying on some of our vessels – here’s what they’re all about! We’re thrilled to partner with artist Ros Burgin for the 2025 Totally Thames Festival. Her project, “Above and Below”, brings the impact of climate change to the Thames through 10 double-sided artworks, each representing the changing Arctic ice landscape since the 2015 Paris Agreement. Translated into handmade flags, these artworks will fly on 10 of our vessels throughout September, turning our fleet into a moving gallery. Each flag reflects the size of Arctic sea ice at its maximum and minimum for the past ten years, using the Prime Meridian and the North Pole as reference points. Ros is a celebrated artist whose work often explores water and climate change, with permanent pieces at Trinity Buoy Wharf including Lifelines and Thames Drawing 2. As London’s leading River Bus service, sustainability is at the heart of what we do. With hybrid vessels already in service and our fully electric Orbit Clipper launching soon, this partnership aligns perfectly with our mission to spark conversations about climate change and protect fragile ecosystems. By bringing the Arctic story to the Thames, we hope to make climate change visible and relevant to Londoners – whether you’re a passenger or just passing by.
