You turn to Google all the time to find answers. And you turn to NJ.com all the time because you trust our award-winning, comprehensive journalism.
Now you can connect NJ.com with your Google experiences.
Google has launched “Preferred Sources,” a new feature that lets users customize what they see in Top Stories when searching for local content. When you select NJ.com as a Preferred Source, you’ll see more NJ.com news articles displayed in search results and Google News.
Here’s how to do it
Option 1: Visit google.com/preferences/source?q=https://www.downtownmelody.com/_x/d3d3Lm5qLmNvbQ and select the box next to “NJ.com.”
Option 2: Choose Preferred Sources by following these steps:
- Go to Google.com and search for a topic that’s in the news (e.g. “New Jersey Politics”), then click on the icon to the right of the “Top Stories” header. (The icon looks like cards with a star on the top card; see the screenshot above.)
- Search for “NJ.com” and select it as a preferred source.
When you refresh your search results or visit Google again, you’ll see more from NJ.com and any other sites you choose as Preferred Sources. News stories from your Preferred Sources will also appear in a new “From your sources” section in search results.
You’ll continue to see content from other websites and can manage your selections at anytime.
You can select as many preferred sources as you like, such as our job-search site, truejersey.jobboard.recruitology.com.
