Luca Lorenz (Germany) explores his passion for the natural world by viewing it through an artistic lens.
Luca was photographing mute swans on an urban lake one evening.
A coypu, a rodent introduced from South America, appeared in the frame.
Coypu were shipped across the world for the fur trade. They’ve since established many feral populations.

Luca is a wildlife photographer from Berlin, Germany. He’s always immersed himself in observing nature and animals and loves understanding the behaviour of wild animals and getting to know their unique characteristics. Through unusual perspectives, under- and over-exposure, long shutter speeds and carefully crafted compositions, he likes to bring his photographic ideas to life. His goal is to actively contribute to improving conditions for all animals on this planet through his photography.
Help us harness the power of photography to advance scientific knowledge, spread awareness of important issues and nurture a global love for nature.
